About Rad Dinosaur Creations

I started wetshaving in 2021 and quickly fell in love with the daily ritual of shaving. I had always seen shaving as a chore, but it quickly became a meditative, relaxing experience. Not only were the results better with wetshaving, but I loved everything about the process. From the scent of the software to the feel of the brush in my hand and the knot on my face. The brushes became my favorite parts of the routine. Selecting a brush with a different feeling knot everyday and knowing that it was made by a craftsman who cares about his work meant a lot to me. The handles could be a truly artistic expression of its maker and the different knots gave me options on how each day's lather would feel on my face. And I would change it up, depending about my mood on a given day. 

After amassing a sizeable collection of brushes from various makers and watching many videos of people turning objects on a lathe, I decided I wanted to try it for myself. So I bought a small old lathe on marketplace that was designed to make pens. I learned by making handmade pens and watching youtube videos. When I felt comfortable (and bored) making pens, I focused my attention to making shaving brush handles. The first were really bad, but each one gradually got better, and I eventually got comfortable enough to sell them to people I knew in the shaving community. And that was the start of Rad Dinosaur Creations.

Over time, I've upgraded my lathe, my tools, my workshop, and my knot offerings, which allows me to offer some of the finest shaving brushes on the planet. I use a variety of materials to make shaving brushes including (but not limited to) resin, acrylic, wood, fordite, and metal inlays. I don't have set colorways or named shapes. Each brush is unique and one-of-a-kind. I'm always striving to learn and grow as a brushmaker. I take my time with each piece and nothing leaves the shop until it's as perfect as possible.
